Well of course the rest of house is yours but your bedroom is only for yourself with no disturbances. So here are some tips on how to make it your sanctuary; a place you could relax and be yourself.
1. Keep it simple
Clutter often gets people stressed out. The last thing you need after a tiring day at work is to walk into a room full of clutter, only to feel more stressed out. So always keep furniture to the minimum and leave ample space for you to walk around. A congested room is never good so do not buy oversized furniture to cramp the room up. Focus only on the stuff that you actually need and put out the rest. For example, don’t bring the entertainment unit into the bedroom. Leave it outside in the living room where all could enjoy. Keep in mind the purpose of your room; relaxation and rejuvenation. The other benefit of less furniture is that it will save you a lot of money and also make cleaning easier.
2. Choose calming colours
It is a known fact that the colours of a room and change your mood in a jiffy. Paint is one of the cheapest things you could invest in but has the biggest impact on you. You need to find out what colours calm you the most. Go for white, grey, cream and other neutral colours. If neutrals don’t work for you, go for peach, light pink, pale green, purple or blue. However, this may not be the same with all. Some find dark colours more comforting and if so, go for it. You can use black and dark greys on one or two walls while the others remain white to keep up the balance of shades. 3. Anchor the bedstead
Placing your bed properly is vital sine it could affect your sleep. It would be better to let the headboard stand against a wall since it gives you a logic of mental security and also protects you from noises and drafts. Fixing a bench by the bottom of your bedstead is a clever trick to prevent you from knocking your knee at the edge of the bed. They make you to go about the edge of the bedstead without brushing by it which will of course save your knees and toes too. The bench could also be a great place to keep your robe rather than hanging it on the headboard which will eventually be on the floor by morning.
